China MEP Issues New Standard on Water Based Coatings
Scope: Coating / Status: To be implemented / Release: 2014-03-31/ Effective: 2014-07-01

In an effort to reshape China’s coating industry, Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) approved new standard of water based coatings and made some changes to the former standard.

China REACH CRC-MEP Website to Permanently Close on 1 July 2014
26 June 2014 The original CRC-MEP website will close from the 1st of Jul 2014 and be replaced by the new website.
 
SAWS Issued Guidelines to Standardize Enterprises’ Management of Non-Pharmaceutical Precursor Chemicals
16 June 2014 China SAWS published the Guidelines for Standardization of Enterprises’ Management of Non-Pharmaceutical Precursor Chemicals, requiring chemical companies to better control precursor chemicals.
 
MEP Cancelled 63 Simplified Notification Certificates Obtained under China NCSN
23 June 2014 MEP cancelled 63 registration certificates obtained through simplified notification under China new chemical substance notification (China NCSN, a.k.a China REACH).
 
55 Substances Added into South Korea’s Non-Toxic Chemical Substance List
24 June 2014 South Korea updated the non-toxic chemical substances list. After the toxicity assessment, an additional 55 substances were added to the previous list last updated on 28 Jan 2014.
 
China’s Test Guidelines for Physical Hazard Identification and Classification of Chemicals Released
19 June 2014 China SAWS published the Test Guidelines of Chemicals’ Physical Hazards, an essential supporting document to implement the Measures on the Management of Physical Hazard Identification and Classification for Chemicals.
 
China MEP Published the 7th and 8th Batch of Regular Notifications to be Approved under China NCSN
12 June 2014 China MEP issued on its website the 7th batch and the 8th batch of China new chemical substance notifications (China NCSN, a.k.a China REACH) to be approved in 2014.

Taiwan TCSCA - Toxic Chemical Substance Control Act
The core of the revised TCSCA is a registration scheme which requires manufacturers and importers to register their new and existing chemical substances prior to entering Taiwan’s market. These new requirements should be complied with after 11 Dec 2014.
