An Overview of South Korea’s Most Recent K-REACH Revisions
18 February 2016 K-REACH came into force on 1 Jan 2015 and was revised on 27 Jan 2016. The updates to Article 19 Paragraph ③, Article 42-2, Article 47, Article 48 and Article 48-2 shall be effective one year later on 28 Jan 2017.

Japan to Remove Propylene Oxide and n-Butyl Acrylate from PACS List
17 February 2016 Japan METI is planning to cancel 2 priority assessment chemical substances (PACS) namely propylene oxide (CAS# 75-56-9) and n-Butyl acrylate (CAS# 141-32-2).

China Water Based Coating Industry Will Benefit from National Inventory of Hazardous Wastes Amendments
16 February 2016 Recently, the coatings industry association revealed that some of the wastes produced by the manufacture of water based coatings might be removed from the Inventory of Hazardous Wastes.

15 February 2016 China’s Ministry of Transport issued Opinions on Implementing Laws and Regulations to Strengthen Port Operation Safety Supervision of Hazardous Chemicals which outlines requirements on 9 aspects.

Hunan Province to Charge for VOCs Emissions
1 February 2016 Recently, the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Finance of Hunan Province issued a joint notice announcing that Hunan Province will charge for VOCs emissions from March 1st 2016.

Japan to Launch CSCL Low Volume New Chemical Confirmation for FY2016
1 February 2016 From Mar 1 to Mar 10, 2016, Japan METI will accept applications of manufacturers and/or importers of new chemical substances up to 10 MT in 2016 fiscal year (Apr 1, 2016 ~ Mar 31, 2017).

South Korea Organizes LR Election for 32 PECs
28 January 2016 So far 120 priority existing chemical substances have completed the LR election. Another 32 PECs are now ready for a new round of LR election period from 25 Jan 2016 to 5 Feb 2016.

China MEP Published the 17th Batch of Regular Notifications to Be Approved under China NCSN
28 January 2016 China MEP issued the 17th batch of China new chemical substance notifications to be approved soon. The certificates will be issued subject to a period of public consultation due on 28 Jan 2016.
