South Korea Designates Two New Toxic Chemical Substances
14 July 2016 South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MoE) announced updates to the Toxic Chemical Substance List (TCSL). 2 substances listed as KE No. 2014-1-729~2014-1-730 have been newly added to the TCSL associated with corresponding content threshold (%) for mixtures.
 
South Korea adds 5 Non-Toxic Substances to Existing Chemical Inventory
14 July 2016 Published on 13 Jul 2016 by MoE Announcement No. 2016-138, five non-toxic chemical substances (KE No. 2016-3-7171~2016-3-7175) were added to South Korea’s Existing Chemical Substance Inventory (KECI).
 
Japan Newly Designates 27 Substances Requiring SDS and Labeling under ISHL
11 July 2016 Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare recently announced the decision of adding 27 substances to Appended Table 9 of the Order for Enforcement of Industrial Safety and Health Law (ISHL).
 
China MEP Consults on the 7th Batch of Regular Notifications to Be Approved under China NCSN in 2016
7 July 2016 China MEP issued the 7th batch of China new chemical substance notifications (China NCSN, a.k.a China REACH) to be approved in 2016 for public consultation. Certificates will be formally issued if no dissenting opinions are raised until 8 Jul.
 
China Designates Water-based Coating Waste as Non-Hazardous
7 July 2016 The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) officially released the final version of the Inventory of Hazardous Wastes and water based coating waste is not included in the inventory.
 
South Korea Consults on Hazard Evaluation Results for New Substances Registered under K-REACH
6 July 2016 South Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) issued the NIER Notice No.2016-215 on 30 Jun 2016, detailing the results of hazard evaluation of 121 new substances registered under K-REACH for public consultation.
 
China New Inventory of Hazardous Waste: Are Your Chemicals Hazardous Wastes?
5 July 2016 The final version of the Inventory of Hazardous Wastes was published by MEP along with National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS). The inventory will take effect on Aug 1st 2016.
