China Revised Environmental Impact Assessment Law
5 August 2016 The Law of Environmental Impact Assessment was revised in order to adapt it to China’s economic development and the change in government’s role. The newly revised law will go into effect from Sep 1st 2016.

26 July 2016 China MEP issued the 8th batch of China new chemical substance notifications (China NCSN) to be approved in 2016 for public consultation. Certificates will be formally issued if no dissenting opinions are raised until 24 Jul.
 
Taiwan Updates Guidance and FAQ for Chemical Commodity Importation Pre-Confirmation
22 July 2016 Taiwan issued the 2nd version of Guidance on Chemical Commodity Importation Pre-Confirmation (CCIP). Stakeholders are encouraged to declare and confirm if there are any chemical substances subject to registration.

U.S. TSCA: Reform and Possible Impacts
On June 22, 2016, the U.S. president Obama signed into law the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act (the “Lautenberg Act”). It’s the first time the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) has been substantively amended in the past 40 years since its enactment. The amended TSCA gives EPA the authority to conduct risk evaluation and risk management process to ensure safe use of chemical substances in commerce.
