China Publishes Catalogue of Advanced VOC Control Techniques
20 Dec 2016 China MEP published the Catalogue of Advanced Pollution Control Techniques – VOCs, as a supporting technical document to the Law of Environmental Protection and Law on the Prevention and Control of Atmospheric Pollution.

China MEP Consults on the 13th Batch of Regular Notifications to Be Approved under China NCSN in 2016
20 Dec 2016 China MEP issued the 13th batch of China new chemical substance notifications to be approved in 2016 for public consultation. Certificates will be formally issued if no dissenting opinions are raised until 21 Dec.

State Council 3-year HazChem Control Plan
20 Dec 2016 China’s State Council published the Comprehensive Management Plan on Safety of Hazardous Chemicals. The Plan raised 40 detailed goals involving 10 major areas relating to the management of hazardous chemicals over the next 3 years.

Annual Reporting of China New Chemical Substances Required before 1 Feb 2017
16 Dec 2016 Certificate holders of simplified notification and regular notification (hazardous new chemical substance with or without priority environmental concern) are obliged to submit an annual report to the SCC-MEP by Feb 1st, 2017.

Japan Small Amount New Chemicals Notification to Begin in 2017
15 Dec 2016 Japanese MHLW, METI and MOE issued a joint notice, announcing the notification window for the 1st batch of small amount new chemicals under Chemical Substance Control Law (CSCL) in 2017.

China Raises Bar on Environmental Protection Requirements
12 Dec 2016 China State Council published 13th Five Year Plan Environmental Protection Program. The Program will be the guiding principle for future environmental protection over the next several years.
