Thailand: GHS Requirements to Extend to Mixtures
9 Mar 2017 Thailand adopted UN GHS 3rd revision on Mar 13th 2012. The implementation on mixtures was given a 5-year grace period and the GHS requirements will extend to mixtures soon on Mar 13th 2017.
 
South Korea to Update Hazard Evaluation Results for New Substances Registered under K-REACH
9 Mar 2017 South Korea’s NIER consulted on the results of hazard evaluation of registered new substances. These substances were issued after K-REACH registration with English chemical name, CAS No., hazard, classification and other information.
 
Japan Passed Amendments to CSCL
8 Mar 2017 Japanese CSCL stipulates that potential revisions or amendments to the Law should be assessed every 5 years to align legislation with industry status quo. On Mar 7th 2017, Japanese Congress voted and passed the amendments to CSCL.
 
List of K-REACH Lead Registrants Published for 302 PECs
7 Mar 2017 The K-REACH Task Force updated on 28 Feb 2017 a list of lead registrants (LRs) for 302 priority existing chemical substances (PECs), of which 17 PECs newly completed the election process.
 
China MEP Consults on Batch 2 Regular Notifications to Be Approved under China NCSN in 2017
6 Mar 2017 China MEP issued the second batch of China new chemical substance notifications to be approved in 2017 for public consultation. Certificates will be formally issued if no dissenting opinions are raised until 5 Mar 2017.
 
South Korea Requires Companies to Submit K-REACH Annual Report By 30 Jun 2017
2 Mar 2017 According to the Han River Basin Environmental Office, the IT system is now open for submission of annual reports under K-REACH. The submission deadline is 30 Jun 2017.
 
China New Chemical Notification Statistics in 2016
2 Mar 2017 MEP published the statistics of China new chemical substances notification. In 2016 there were 132 regular notifications, 2622 simplified notifications and 1080 scientific research record notifications approved.
